Best deal right now (October 31, 2026, 11:14 BRT): Surfshark One at $67.23 for the first 27 months ($2.49/mo), the plan Surfshark itself labels “Black Friday deal” (“Save 88%”). It renews at $99.00 a year before taxes, per Surfshark’s renewal price page. NordVPN now shows a Black Friday banner (“Get 78% off + 3 extra months”, the Complete plan), and Proton’s Black Friday page says “The countdown to Black Friday has begun” but lists no Black Friday price yet. The quick way to compare is the upfront total plus one year of renewal, because that’s what most people end up paying. On the October 31 prices:

• Surfshark Starter: $67.23 + $79.00 = $146.23 for 39 months (about $3.75 a month).
• Proton VPN Plus via the deals page: $71.76 + $83.88 = $155.64 for 36 months (about $4.32 a month).
• Surfshark One: $67.23 + $99.00 = $166.23 for 39 months (about $4.26 a month).
• Proton VPN Plus via the pricing page: $83.76 + $83.88 = $167.64 for 36 months (about $4.66 a month).
• NordVPN Basic: $94.23 + $139.08 = $233.31 for 39 months (about $5.98 a month).
• ExpressVPN Basic: $83.72 + $99.95 = $183.67 for 40 months (about $4.59 a month).
• CyberGhost: $56.94 + $56.94 = $113.88 for 38 months (about $3.00 a month), though that is a Halloween price, not a Black Friday one.

The terms differ (36 to 40 months), so compare the monthly average. PureVPN is left out of this sum because its deal is a 5-year term. Our own arithmetic, from the prices above; taxes not included.

The deals

Surfshark

On its US pricing page, Surfshark puts the “Black Friday deal” tag on Surfshark One, priced like the cheaper Starter plan: $2.49 a month, $67.23 for 27 months (“Save 88%” on One, “Save 87%” on Starter). Surfshark’s renewal page lists One as VPN, Antivirus, Alert, Search and Alternative ID; Starter is VPN plus Alternative ID.

• Renewal: plans “renew automatically at the full price”: $79.00 a year for Starter and $99.00 for One after a 2-year plan, before taxes. Surfshark adds that displayed renewal prices “may be subject to” A/B price testing.
• Refund: “you can ask for a refund within 30 days of signing up.”
• Limitations: “(VAT may apply)”; tax is added at checkout. Surfshark emails you 30 days before renewal on plans longer than a month.
• Pro: the lowest upfront price among the plans with a Black Friday label, and unlimited devices. Con: One jumps from $2.49 to $8.25 a month ($99.00 a year) at renewal.

NordVPN

NordVPN, which shares an owner (Nord Security) with Surfshark, now shows a Black Friday banner on its pricing page: “Black Friday: Get NordVPN with a next-gen antivirus. Get 78% off + 3 extra months” (checked 11:15 BRT on October 31). The 78% figure matches the Complete plan; Basic still shows its regular 2-year intro price:

• Basic: $3.49 a month, $94.23 for the first 27 months, then $139.08 a year (monthly Basic: $14.99). Complete: $3.99 a month, $107.73 for 27 months, then $219.48 a year.
• Refund: you must ask “within 30 days of initial purchase.”
• Limitations: “Sales tax may apply.” Yearly renewals are charged “up to 14 days before the renewal,” after an email notice. Basic covers 10 devices.
• Pro: its sixth no-logs assurance report, by Deloitte, was issued in December 2025. Con: the highest renewal among the entry plans here is NordVPN Basic at $139.08 a year ($11.59 a month); Complete renews higher still at $219.48 a year.

Proton VPN

Proton’s Black Friday page now says “The countdown to Black Friday has begun. Get ready for our biggest sale of the year.” (checked 11:15 BRT on October 31). It shows no Black Friday price yet, so we don’t list one. Its FAQ says the Black Friday discounts “are calculated based on the regular monthly price.”

• VPN Plus on the deals page (“up to 70% off”): $2.99 a month, “Billed at $71.76 for the first 24 months, then renews at $83.88 every 12 months.” Proton’s own signup button on that page already carries its intro coupon, so you don’t need a code from us.
• VPN Plus on the pricing page: $3.49 a month, $83.76 for 24 months, same renewal.
• Refund: 30-day money-back guarantee. VPN Plus covers 10 devices, and Proton’s renewal is the closest of the big three (Surfshark, NordVPN, Proton) to its intro price.
• Pro: the smallest jump at renewal, plus a free plan. Con: no Black Friday price posted yet, and 24 months are billed upfront.

Also checked: PureVPN’s order page carries a “Black Friday deal” label on its 5-year Standard plan ($1.69 a month, $101.55 upfront, 31-day money-back guarantee). CyberGhost’s pricing page showed a Halloween deal (83% off, $56.94 for 26 months), not a Black Friday one. ExpressVPN’s US pricing page showed no Black Friday label (Basic $83.72 for 28 months, renewing at $99.95 a year). All at 11:14 BRT on October 31.

How to tell a real VPN deal from a fake one

1. Look at the renewal, not the monthly figure. Every price above is an intro price for the first term only. NordVPN’s terms say so directly: the intro price “is valid only for the first period of your subscription.”
2. Check what the “% off” is measured against. ExpressVPN says its discounts are based on “the current monthly service price.” Proton’s “65% off” compares $3.49 with the $9.99 it shows crossed out. NordVPN says its savings compare the intro price with “the current monthly price of the annual renewal.” Surfshark doesn’t say on the page; its crossed-out $538.65 for One works out to $19.95 a month over 27 months. Same word, different baselines.
3. Count the “+3 months”. NordVPN and Surfshark sell 2-year plans as 27 months. Divide the upfront total by the real number of months before comparing.
4. Remember you pay upfront. $2.49 a month is a $67.23 charge on day one.
5. Add tax. NordVPN and Surfshark both say tax may be added at checkout.
6. Use the 30-day window. Surfshark, NordVPN, Proton VPN and ExpressVPN offer 30 days (PureVPN 31, CyberGhost 45 on its 26-month plan) to ask for a refund. If you buy through Apple, Google or Amazon instead, NordVPN says refunds go through that store.
7. Ignore codes from anyone but the provider. The prices here need no coupon from us.

When do VPN Black Friday deals start and end?

Black Friday is November 27, 2026, and Cyber Monday is November 30, 2026. Providers set their own dates, and none of the pages showed an end date when we checked, so we don’t guess one. Here is what the official pages show today:

• Surfshark already uses the “Black Friday deal” label. We first logged it on its US pricing page on October 12, 2026. The $67.23 price was the same that day; only the crossed-out price changed, from $511.65 to $538.65. On October 31 the price was still $67.23.
• Proton says “The countdown to Black Friday has begun” on its Black Friday page (October 31), with no price posted yet. In a past year, its 2022 offer post was published on November 2, 2022.
• NordVPN had no Black Friday label on October 18; by October 31 its pricing page showed a Black Friday banner (“Get 78% off + 3 extra months”).

Cyber Monday deals aren’t automatically better. When the price changes, we’ll log it below with the date and time.

How we evaluated

We compared only each VPN’s official pricing and deal pages, in the US view and in USD, and logged the date and time of every check. For each plan we noted the upfront total and the renewal price the provider publishes. Prices seen from outside the US don’t count, since providers can show prices by location. We ran no speed tests and claim none. We rank by what you pay, then by how clearly the renewal is published, never by commission.

When do VPN Black Friday deals start?
Each provider picks its own date. On October 31, 2026, Surfshark and PureVPN showed “Black Friday deal” labels and NordVPN a Black Friday banner; Proton’s Black Friday page said “The countdown to Black Friday has begun” with no Black Friday price posted yet (still no priced BF offer on the deals or pricing pages we checked). Black Friday is November 27, 2026.

Is the VPN Black Friday price the renewal price too?
No. These are intro prices for the first term. After that, Surfshark lists $79.00 (Starter) or $99.00 (One) a year before taxes, NordVPN Basic $139.08 a year and Proton VPN Plus $83.88 a year.

Which VPN has the best Black Friday deal?
On October 31, 2026, at 11:14 BRT, the lowest upfront total with a Black Friday label was Surfshark at $67.23 for 27 months. Counting one renewal year and dividing by the real number of months, Surfshark Starter (about $3.75 a month) and Surfshark One ($4.26) were lowest among Black Friday-labeled plans, with Proton VPN Plus on its deals page just behind ($4.32). CyberGhost was cheaper (about $3.00 a month) but on a Halloween deal, not Black Friday.

Can I get a refund on a Black Friday VPN plan?
NordVPN, Surfshark and Proton VPN all offer 30 days. NordVPN counts from the initial purchase, and app store purchases are refunded by the store.

Are Cyber Monday VPN deals better than Black Friday?
Not by default. Cyber Monday is November 30, 2026; we’ll compare both days on the official pages and log any change here.

Verdict

If you want to buy today, Surfshark has the lowest upfront price among Black Friday-labeled plans: $67.23 for 27 months, then $79.00 or $99.00 a year. If you’d rather avoid a big jump at renewal, Proton VPN Plus on its deals page costs $71.76 for 24 months and renews at $83.88 a year; Proton says its Black Friday sale is coming but hasn’t posted a price. NordVPN’s Black Friday banner points to Complete ($107.73 for 27 months); Basic is still $94.23. We’ll log any change here with the time we saw it.
